Counter-Strike 2 has finally landed, stirring excitement among the gaming community. However, there's a nostalgic yet new challenge awaiting players: mastering new (or should we say, old?) smoke lineups.

Over the past decade, CS:GO enthusiasts have honed their skills in numerous smoke lineups to gain map control and excel in executions. Now, the advent of CS2 demands a fresh mastery of smoke lineups.

In CS2, acing the smoke lineups is crucial for triumph, and here's a comprehensive guide to every essential Mirage smoke to elevate your gameplay.

ALL THE SMOKES YOU NEED TO KNOW IN CS2 MIRAGE

There are bound to be numerous variations of these smokes, alongside endless gimmicky ones you can throw, yet here we outline the prime smokes on Mirage in CS2.

Realistically, these smokes can be grouped into three categories, mirroring the trio of actions you'd typically undertake on Mirage: 'Rush B', 'Smokes A', or 'Go Mid'.

These timeless calls will guide you in your pugs till eternity.

Starting from the left and moving to the right out of spawn, let's kick off with the top A smokes on Mirage in CS2.

MIRAGE CS2 A SMOKES

A Mirage A-site execute typically comprises three smokes to block off three angles:

MIRAGE CT SMOKE IN CS2

Starting with the CT smoke, here is how you line it up.

Find this vertical line on the wall at the corner to go round to ramp, and line up like so.

Then, aim up a little under the corner of this tower and hit your jump throw.

If you don't have a jump throw bind, you'll need one.

Now that you have your CT smoke, what other uses can it serve beyond a standard execute? Consider deploying the CS2 Mirage CT smoke during an eco round, and orchestrate a team waterfall exit from Palace, accompanied by a few flashes, aiming to secure some bomb plant money.

MIRAGE STAIRS SMOKE IN CS2

Let's move on to Stairs, which hasn't changed much from CS:GO. For Stairs, head to the same corner of the first step just outside of T Spawn as shown.

Next, look up to this gap in the scaffolding and left-click throw.

It's noteworthy to mention here that, contrary to the CT smoke, we wouldn't recommend deploying the Stairs smoke independently. With only a Stairs smoke, the CTs retain substantial visibility of the site, rendering it less viable.

Rather, aim to merge it with the upcoming Jungle smoke we're set to unveil, and akin to the eco strategy, employ Palace to disorient the A anchor and strive for CT control during the post-plant phase, sans the obstruction from the smoke.

MIRAGE JUNGLE SMOKE IN CS2

Alright, transitioning to Jungle now. The Jungle smoke in CS:GO was quite irksome due to frequent little gaps on both sides, yet in CS2, fret not as covering the entire area is a highlight of the new smokes in this version.

For executing the Jungle smoke, proceed up the steps from the Stairs smoke location and navigate around the corner to this specified spot on the wall (refer to the minimap in the screenshot for enhanced clarity).

Now, pull a 180 and aim at this spot. Just like Stairs, left-click throw.

Now you have the best smokes for an A execute on Mirage in CS2, so how about we help you get Mid-control earlier in the round?

CS2 MIRAGE MID SMOKES

Gaining control of Mid is crucial on Mirage. Lacking it, the CTs gain an insight into your impending execute, stacking onto a site, or worse, flanking you even before you have the opportunity to deploy your smokes.

Luckily, these smokes won't pose much of a challenge, as we've identified lineups for each one from a singular spot.

CS2 MIRAGE TOP MID SMOKE

Let's start with the quintessential one, the smoke you'll see all the way from Silver to Global Elite, the Top Mid smoke.

Just like the Stairs smoke on A, the Top Mid smoke is incredibly similar to in CS:GO. Jump on top of the bin in T Spawn, aim at the antenna like we've shown and left-click throw.

CS2 MIRAGE WINDOW SMOKE

Let's move on to Window, the smoke you really want to throw if you want to stop the CT AWPer from being able to steal any kills at all from the start of the round.

For the Window smoke on CS2 Mirage, move to the left of the bin and aim at the top right of the door, then, tap D and hit your jump throw.

CS2 MIRAGE TOP CONNECTOR SMOKE

Lastly, we have the Top Connector smoke. This highly potent smoke enables you to drive the CTs away from key map areas, make a bold entry as the smoke dissipates, or advance up Short with significantly reduced risk of CTs attacking from behind.

For the Top Connector smoke, crouch to the left of the bin and aim as shown. Then, crouch walk forwards until your crosshair meets the tip of the balcony and jump throw.

With those three smokes in your arsenal, you're now best equipped to take Mid on Mirage in CS2. Happy defaulting!

But what if defaulting goes wrong? Well, then we guess there's only one thing left to do.

Rush. B.

CS2 MIRAGE B SMOKES

Rushing B on Mirage is special, and that will be no different in CS2.

A tactic you can consistently bank on, mastering the optimal smokes for a Mirage B Rush in CS2 is bound to secure you a few rounds when facing adverse circumstances. Below are the listed smokes:

Like the Mid smokes, we've found smokes from the same lineup, so one player can throw the utility while everyone else focuses on fragging.

MIRAGE B MARKET WINDOW

Let's start with the Market Window.

Get into the corner to the right when you leave TV room and aim up at the tower as shown, then, jump throw.

MIRAGE MARKET DOOR SMOKE

Next up, the Market Door.

Combining these two smokes will allow you to completely block out rotating CTs while also giving you enough room on the site to manoeuvre into the best post-plant positions possible.

For the Market Door smoke, aim instead at this window on the tower and jump throw.

So there you have it. You are now fully equipped with every smoke you need to know on Mirage in CS2.
